why i hate cars

On my way home from work down at the beach a car backs out a parking spot and runs in to highly beloved Honda CB250F. My face and the front of my open face helmet went through the back windshield, knocking me out for a wee bit. Left about a few pints of blood on the tarmac but i am fine , its now 6 hours later, just got back from hospital and im back home blogging you this , with 3 different painkillers (one of which is codeine, my personal favorite!) (sorry for my odd spelling and grammer , i blame it on the codeine :) anyway the score is: Right knee inner ligaments torn, Possible fracture on back of hand/wrist area, black eye, cuts to nose and face, gouges to lower leg/ankle. Havent seen the bike yet but it had to be pulled from under the car and is at a garage nearby, will update you on that at a later stage. The guy in the car was an Austrian tourist that didint look over his left shoulder. It was a rental car and luckily insured. The cops are charging and sentencing him tommorow. Im not angry at him, the police told me he was very upset and conceirned about me. My old neighbour Gayle (from Nolans Bday party pics!) saw me bleeding on the tarmac. There was actually quite a crowd , it was quite bloody n lotsa cops and ambulance people. The ambulance and hospital was super! Really proffesional and friendly people. Also, right when the accident happenend there were two doctors on the beach that came to my aid straight away, awesome ! Must be my lucky day eej...?? Hahahahaha ! Allright recovery time starts, where did i put that Codeine ? :)

Nolans 1st Birthday Party !

Happy Birthday Son !

Yesterday was Nolan Huia's first birthday! We had a lot of friends and family come over, lots of kai* and Nolan was a very spoiled boy. He loved our singing and he was playing lots with his new toys. It was an awesome night , thanx for everybody that could make it !

*(kai (noun), "food" in Māori - the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand. Also common in New Zealand English.)

By the time i got hold of the camera , half the cake was gone !

We're talking two sheperds pies, garlic mushrooms, poached pears, pasta salad, two whole chickens, fresh green salad with feta and balsamic dressing, garlic and herb bread. If you couldnt make it to the party , this is what you missed out on. Bummer eej? :)

We had a great day, it was a very special one for us , a year that has gone by so fast , and the little boy growing so fast , so beautiful and strong. Smart boy , like a little sponge he is , very clever and always happy and smiling. When he falls asleep in your arms and you look at that... awww its all worth it, we love our little prince so much ! Cheers son , happy birthday to you!

Our Guestchef for the evening is Leon Harbison, multi award winning Irish Chef and a longtime friend of mine. It is with great pleasure that i let him be the first to cook a proper meal in my kitchen. Everybodys favorite, Spaghetti Bolognaise ! Cant go wrong ! Look its a proper GAS hob !!!

Our new place !

Yaaay! We have moved into our new house! Its a large 3 bedroom house , all to ourselves , very private and awesome views! We love our new nest ! Have a look... !
