Whats happening man !?

How have you been..?

Since we have been back online I have had quite a lot of people asking me; 'what have you been up to the last few years?' Instead of typing you all a long email i'd rather chuck it on the Blog because with a 9 month old there isnt much time to spare. So please dont feel pissed off when you have been referred to (spammed) this Blogspace thing of mine. I dont do Facebook or Bebo (katie does dont worry) so i guess this will have to do. All pics on this site are fully printable quality/size wise and they took me ages to upload as we are on el-cheapo dial up for the moment. Anyway , whats happening man !?!?

Well as most of you all know our little Nolan Huia was born 19-03-2008 , thats when our little precious one decided it was time to come out, just a few days late and all healthy and handsome ! As you can see he is growing fast , he started crawling last week and is getting really good at it. His first teeth are coming through and he eats like a big Dutchman :) Its summertime now and he loves it here at the beach, there is a great playground across the road and a mainly empty beach behind it.

We left this place (Lyall Bay, Wellington) in March 2007 and moved to beautiful Wanaka, in the South Island. Its a very nice town near Queenstown but in winter it blows up into a snowboard paradise because of the great snowparks they have. Lots of kids from all over the world come to Wanaka to ride and party. We spent the entire winter season working and living in Wanaka and had a great time. I worked at a fancy 5 star resort and Katie in the busiest Cafe in town. We met a lot of very nice people down there and had a good look around the South Island. (Shot quite a few rabbits and birds along the way ofcourse) The winter was cold and we had a few powercuts , we cuddled up and... well... Anyway katie became pregnant and we were overjoyed, it was a really happy time for us. We did decide to move back up to Wellington because we wanted to be with Katies family, who have supported us in many great ways, thanks to all of you! After living in the hills of Kingston (Wellington) for a year we moved back to Lyall Bay. Kingston was a bit unpractical and isolated and Katie really wanted to be back in the bay so she started looking hard out and she was rewarded with this great place we live at the moment , its the 2nd story flat of a big house overlooking the entire beach. The sunsets and waves, the sand , surfers , kite surfers , windsurfers , dolphins and landing planes really add to the view and we love it here , really felt like coming home to us ! (Ive even gotten back into making stencils on canvas!)

I work at Victoria University as a Chef and cook daily for 350 first year students. Great job , very nice co workers (3 Chefs , all three arrived in NZ in 2003, all have at least 1 son and all our names start with "J" , Jasper (Dutch), John (scotsman) and Jeetendhra (Indian), funny isnt it? During university holidays we cater for large groups which i enjoy a lot. Katie has started her own cleaning company , and she cleans corporate offices for about an hour each day and she looks after the little boy during the day.

So yeah we are doing well , just had our 3 year anniversary this week and happy as ever. Little Nolan Huia is doing great , he gets lots of love and attention , loves to say 'dadduh' and he likes to interact with other children. Katies mum has been a great help to us and i just want to let her know that she is an awesome grandma, the best!!

For all my friends and family in the Netherlands i love you all and miss you all but im doing fine and i love living here in New Zealand. Please dont be a stranger , contact me whenever you want , im just a click away !

Everybody take care and be nice to each other, until the next Blog i say:

"Goodbye !"
